The Kitchener man charged in a fatal crash that killed a 29-year-old London woman last year will make another court appearance Thursday.
Ahmed Darwish (pictured) spent the holidays behind bars following a fatal crash on Highway 7/8 near Trussler Road in Wilmot Township, just west of Kitchener on November 27th.
The crash killed 29-year-old Susana Dumitru and sent her two-month-old son, George, to hospital in Toronto by helicopter.
George’s status hasn’t been updated since mid-December when he was said to be improving. A funeral for Susana Dumitru was held last month in Romania after a successful fundraising campaign garnered enough funds to help the family with their wishes.
26-year-old Darwish is facing several charges including dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death, two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm, impaired driving causing death, impaired driving causing bodily harm, fail to provide a breath sample causing bodily harm and fail to submit to a drug evaluation.
He is due to appear in a Kitchener court Thursday morning.
