We hope to get an update from investigators on Thursday following a potentially fatal house fire on the Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation.
Police have confirmed the residents of the home destroyed by fire on Wednesday southwest of London remain unaccounted for.
Members of the Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation Police, Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation Fire Department, and Middlesex Centre Fire, with assistance from Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police and the OPP, were called to the scene on the 1200 block of Townline Road around 11 a.m.
At the scene, crews found a single residence that was fully engulfed.
In a release, police said residents of the home were unaccounted for, adding a damage estimate and cause was not yet known.
Police said the scene has been secured for the Fire Marshal, and Townline Road is closed from Ballpark Road to Fairgrounds Road.
“The public can expect fire and police presence in the area until further notice,” said OPP Constable Liz Melvin.
No further information has been released by police.
