Provincial police say a three-vehicle collision just outside of London Saturday left one person dead and sent three others to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Middlesex OPP, Middlesex Centre Fire, and Middlesex-London EMS responded to the scene at the intersection of Vanneck Road and Egremont Drive in Middlesex Centre around 1:05 p.m.
According to investigators, a northbound GMC pickup truck collided with an eastbound Dodge car at the intersection, which is governed by traffic lights. The Dodge car then collided with a Honda car that was traveling westbound on Egremont, police said.
The driver of the Honda was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the three occupants of the Dodge were transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say the driver of the Dodge had to be extricated from the vehicle.
The identity of the Honda driver has not been released pending notification of family.
The three occupants of the GMC pickup did not attend hospital, police said.
The collision remains under investigation, and police say members of the OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting.
