London police have charged a 23 year old man with multiple impaired driving offences in connection with a fatal crash in the city’s north end.
Police were called to the intersection of Richmond St. and Sunningdale Rd. just after 3 a.m. Thursday following reports of a crash.

Investigators say there was a head-on crash between a car and an SUV. One vehicle had been travelling eastbound on Sunningdale Rd. and the other westbound when they collided in the intersection.
Debris could been scattered across the intersection, and the vehicles came to rest about a block away. Police estimate the crash scene spans around 250 metres.
An unidentified 23 year old London man has been charged with the following:
- One count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
- One count of driving more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood causing death.
- One count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
Richmond Street was closed in both directions for several hours, but it has since reopened. Sunningdale Rd. remains closed east of Richmond Street.
Members of the traffic management Unit are still on scene and police say the investigation is ongoing.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
