Don’t be alarmed if you notice a large military presence in London on Thursday evening.
Members of the 4th Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment will be conducting a rucksack march from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Roughly 40 soldiers will march 13 km in the city’s west end, starting in Gibbons Park and following the path towards Springbank Park before finishing in the parking lot off Commissioners Road.
Londoners may notice military vehicles and soldiers carrying weapons and dressed in combat clothing but officials say no ammunition will be carried by the soldiers, which are based out of the 4th Battalion’s two locations in London and Stratford.
The rucksack march is an annual load-bearing march.
