Elgin OPP have identified a 29-year-old Aylmer man as the motorcyclist who was killed in a crash this week.
Officers say it was around 8 p.m. on Monday when they and other area emergency services were called to the intersection of Quaker Rd. and Talbot Line in Central Elgin to reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a pick-up truck.
When they arrived at the scene, investigators determined a Dodge pick-up truck was turning west onto Talbot Line from Quaker Rd. An eastbound Ford Expedition on Talbot Line was turning south in the turning lane towards Quaker Rd and a Kawasaki motorcycle was also heading east on Talbot Line in the driving lane.
The OPP says the Dodge pick-up and the motorcycle were the vehicles that collided.
St. Thomas Elgin Paramedics treated and transported the rider of the motorcycle to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers say the man, 29-year-old David Berg of Aylmer was pronounced dead in hospital.
No one else was injured in the crash.
The OPP says its investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing and charges are pending.
