Middlesex OPP have identified the man killed in a crash just west of Ilderton.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Ilderton Road and Vanneck Road at 6:08 p.m. Sunday following a collision between a white pick-up truck and a black van.
The male driver of the pick-up truck suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.
He’s since been identified as 66-year-old Garry Trevithick of North Middlesex.
The 46-year-old man driving the van had to be extricated from the vehicle and taken to hospital by Ornge air ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
The OPP says he’s currently in fair condition in hospital.
The drivers were the only people in each of the vehicles.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, police haven’t said if any charges will be laid.
A hydro pole was broken as a result of the collision and investigators say both vehicles came to rest off the roadway, on the northwest corner of the intersection.
Officers say the intersection was closed until 3:30 a.m. Monday as the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators worked on scene.
