Eleven people were sent to hospital, including two children with serious injuries, following a two-vehicle crash north of Stratford on Saturday afternoon.
According to Perth County OPP, the collision occurred when a white minivan performed a u-turn while travelling south on Road 164 near Listowel at around 12 p.m. The vehicle was struck by a blue minivan travelling northbound.
All five passengers in the white van, three adults and three children, were sent to hospital. Two of the children, a four-year-old girl and a five-year-old girl, were brought to a London hospital with serious injuries. Two adults and three children from the blue minivan were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Perth County OPP, Paramedic Services, and the Palmerston Fire Department all responded to the collision. The West Region OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Team is assisting with the collision investigation. Road 164 (Highway #23), just north of Line 89, remained closed for several hours following the incident.
