Police have charged a 19-year-old Calgary man in connection with the shooting death of Calgary Stampeder Mylan Hicks.
Hicks, 23, was gunned down at the Marquee Beer Market early Sunday morning.
Police said they were called to the nightclub, located in the 4600 block of Macloed Trial S.W., at around 2:30 a.m. MDT.
Myland was rushed to hospital where he later died.
Three suspects were taken into custody at the time of the shooting.
On Monday, police announced Nelson Tony Lugela had been charged with second-degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
The two other suspects have been released from custody pending further investigation.
In a news release, police said a vehicle believed to be used by the suspects was found in the 4000 block of Stanley Place S.W. on Sunday.
“The vehicle has been seized and is currently being processed by the Forensic Crime Scene Unit.”
Police believe the shooting happened following an altercation inside the nightclub.
“It is not yet known what started the initial altercation,” police said. “But the investigation continues.”
Officers believe a number of people may have recorded video of the incident on their cellphones.
