The countdown to the first day of school is officially on for those at Western University as more than 5,000 first year students will begin to move in to residences next week.
Thousands of students will wave their parents goodbye as they unpack on moving days between Sunday and Wednesday.
The majority of the first year students move in on Sunday and Monday with the help of more than 800 upper year students volunteering as mentors to ease the transition.
Meanwhile, nearly 38-thousand students will come to London in the coming days for school at Western.
“There’s a lot of people, a lot of energy, a lot of moving parts, but we tend to be very well organized at this time of year,” said Jana Luker, Associate VP Student Experience at Western.
A full list of events to entertain the students during O-Week has been scheduled, which includes concerts and guest speakers.
The first official day of school for most Western students is Thursday.
