London Police are looking for a lone suspect after a brazen bank robbery in the city’s east end.
According to police, a suspect entered the Scotia Bank at Hamilton and Highbury just before noon Thursday and demanded money.
The suspect fled with cash on a motorcycle and no one was injured.
Steve Ashton tells AM980 he’s been a customer at the branch for over 40 years and wasn’t surprised to hear about the robbery.
“Every time a bank gets hit, I know one time the one girl she left here to go to another bank cause she was paranoid. The last robbery was pretty violent, they came in with guns pointing at them. Another girl, I think she left too cause it’s just traumatizing.”
No suspect description is available at this time but anyone with information is asked to contact police.
Ashton believes it’s just a matter of time before an arrest is made.
“The thing about banks — they have cameras everywhere! They’re taking a chance at being caught unless their face is covered. I mean I would never think of trying to rob a bank cause there’s too many cameras and you’re going to get caught anyways. Especially if they put like a red dye pack in there.”
