Some big names in Canadian country music have been tapped to take part in next month’s Canadian Country Music Association awards show in London.
In addition to the previously announced acts – Dean Brody, High Valley, Madeline Merlo, and Jess Moskaluke – officials announced several more performers on Tuesday. Gord Bamford, Chad Brownlee, and Brett Kissel joined by Carolyn Dawn Johnson will perform at the CCMAs along with special guest Kelsea Ballerini.
Canadian television personality Jessi Cruickshank will host the event which will be broadcast live from London on CBC at 8 p.m. September 11th with an encore airing on CMT Canada at 10 p.m.
Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the next few weeks, leading up to awards night on Sunday, September 11th at Budweiser Gardens.
Bamford is one of the most decorated Canadian country artists with 20 CCMA Awards and multiple JUNO Award nominations; he’s also been recognized stateside with the Country Music Association’s 2013 and 2015 CMA Global Country Artist Award. Brownlee is a critically-acclaimed country artist who was nominated for Country Album of the Year at the 2013 JUNO Awards and is up for several awards at the upcoming CCMAs. Kissel’s latest single, “Cool With That”, is his eighth consecutive top ten radio hit. He’ll perform alongside 17-time CCMA Award winner Carolyn Dawn Johnson. Ballerini rounds out the list of performers and is the first solo female artist in 15 years to hit #1 with her first two country singles.
