Beer lovers will converge on Covent Garden Market on Saturday afternoon and evening for the fifth-annual Forest City Beer Fest.
Admission is free for the beer-sampling event, which will feature craft breweries from all across Ontario — including four local groups.
Forked River, Toboggan, the London Brewing Co-Op, and Anderson Craft Ales will be featured together in a London-only pavilion.
A total of 15 vendors are expected at the event, including Beau’s, St. Thomas’ Railway City, and Steamwhistle. A full list can be found here.
Organizer Aaron Brown notes that the event has grown each of the five years, calling its growth “explosive and exponential.”
“We’ve noticed that the lines were getting long,” Brown says, “We found out that, if you fill out the right forms and ask nicely, they will let you put craft beer on the Budweiser Gardens property.”
Because of the event, Talbot Street will be closed between King and Dundas between 9 a.m. and 1 a.m.
Along with beer, a number of food vendors will be on site, including Goodah Gastrotruck and The Root Cellar.
It’s a rain or shine event.
