A heat warning in London-Middlesex is once again joined by a severe thunderstorm watch.
Early Friday afternoon, Environment Canada issued the watch in for London-Middlesex, Oxford-Brant, and Elgin counties, noting that scattered showers and thunderstorms have begun developing from the west end of Lake Ontario towards the London region.
The weather agency says conditions are favourable for the development of more intense storms with the possibility of “torrential rain” of 50mm or more and brief but strong gusts of wind.
The watch was lifted by 3:20 p.m. Friday before being reinstated roughly two hours later. The AM980-Gerrie Electric Storm Centre is monitoring this system.
