The investigation is ongoing, but London Police say a fire that claimed the life of a 60-year-old woman in the city’s east end is not considered suspicious.
On Friday afternoon, London Police issued an update saying the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The victim has now been identified as 60-year-old Theresa Bourdeau.
Fire crews were called to 630 Huron Street, just east of Adelaide Street at around 3:42 a.m. Upon arrival, smoke was seen coming from a ground floor apartment. Fire crews had to force their way into a smoke-filled apartment where a victim was located near the door.
The victim was found unresponsive. Fire fighters performed CPR until EMS arrived, but she was transported to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday afternoon with the final determination of the cause of death under investigation by the West Region Coroner.
