An Emirates plane carrying 282 passengers and crew on board crash landed at Dubai International Airport on Wednesday, according to the Dubai government media office.
Authorities say flight EK521 was evacuated and all passengers escaped without any injuries. According to a statement from Dubai-based Emirates, there were no fatalities among 282 passengers and 18 crew on board.
“All passengers and crew are accounted for and safe,” read the statement, posted to Facebook.
It’s unclear whether there were any injuries on board.
Images of thick black smoke on the tarmac were posted on social media. The plane was on route from Trivandrum International Airport in India when it crash-landed.
Emirates said the incident happened at 12:45 p.m. local time (845 GMT) on Wednesday.

The airline has activated dedicated telephone lines for family members. It’s not clear whether any Canadian’s were on board.
