A 22-year-old Chatham man is facing impaired driving charges after police allege he fell asleep in a Tim Hortons drive-thru on Canada Day morning.
Police say they were called to a St. Clair Street location on Friday at around 11:50 a.m. Upon arrival, the investigating officer supposedly observed a male party, asleep, vehicle running, still in the drive-thru.
Police say once the male was woken up, he was slurring his speech. A strong scent of alcohol was also supposedly observed by the officer.
The male was arrested and later charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Refusal to provide a Breath sample.
His vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
He has since been released from custody.
