Middlesex County OPP have identified the victim of a fatal crash on Hwy 402.
34-year-old Johnathan James Wright of London died after two tractor trailers and two vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes of the highway at around 3 p.m. Monday.
Five other people were treated by EMS and transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Pictures taken at the scene show one of the transport trucks engulfed in flames.
All lanes of the eastbound 402 were closed for several hours at Colonel Talbot Rd. for investigation and clean-up.
Police say the roadway reopened just after 10:30 p.m. Monday.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The fatal collision came less than 20 minutes after a separate crash was reported by police in the same area but on the westbound lanes of the 402.
In that incident, police say a dump truck crashed in the ditch and spilled gravel and debris across both east and westbound lanes.
It’s not clear whether there were any injuries, or whether charges will be laid in connection with that incident.
