The man found dead at a residence on the Oneida First Nation of the Thames has been identified by local police.
Middlesex OPP say they were called to a home on River Road around 3 p.m. on Sunday.
When they arrived on scene, they say they found a man’s body in the residence. On Monday morning, the OPP identified him as 66-year-old Carson Ireland of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation. Officers say a post mortem will be done to determine Ireland’s exact cause of death.
The OPP says their investigation shows a gun was involved in the incident and they also say they’re searching for someone in connection with the case.
Officers have described the suspect as “a tall non-white male, wearing dark clothing and driving a light coloured vehicle.”
Police say a portion of River Road between Townline Road and Walker Road remains closed as investigators work in the area.
The OPP is also reminding all citizens to be mindful of crime prevention by keeping homes and vehicles secured and to report any suspicious activity to police.
Anyone who has any information about this case is asked to contact local police. The OPP can be reached any time, anywhere in the Province of Ontario, by calling 1-888-310-1122. You can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
