Ottawa’s Chief of Police says reports claiming Sidney Crosby was arrested in the nation’s capital are “not true.”
According to the Ottawa Sun, the 27-year-old was arrested late Tuesday night while driving a rented Porsche. Sources cited by the newspaper say Crosby was taken to Ottawa police headquarters for fingerprinting and a mugshot.
Early Wednesday morning, Ottawa’s Police Chief Charles Bordeleau denied the report, but declined to provide further details.
“We have had no dealings with Mr. Crosby,” he tweeted.
So far, there’s been no further comment from the Ottawa Sun or its chain of newspapers.
The story has since been removed from the Sun’s website.
