Drug Store Moving Into Part Of Former Downtown CIBC Building
AM980 News

1/8/2013

A prime street-level piece of downtown real estate now has a new tenant.

A Pharma Plus drug store, which will be about 15 000 square feet, will occupy two floors where the former CIBC branch used to be at the northeast corner of Richmond Street and Dundas Streets.

Janette MacDonald is the manager of Downtown London and says this news shows the continued progress of downtown revitalization.

"What it speaks to is that downtown...we're not the only people saying that downtown is being revitalized. When a national chain like that wants to come into a downtown, I mean that speaks volumes, in that they've done their market research and they know that they can make money in this downtown. I think that really solidifies the fact that we're really getting where we want to be."

The former bank branch has been vacant for the past six to seven years now.

No word on when the new store will be opening its doors.
