As a resident of St. Thomas, and a member of the media, I am embarrassed and disgusted with the way the recent boil-water advisory was handled this past week by city and health officials alike.
I share the same opinion of worried residents wondering why health officials held back releasing any information...only to find out 4 hours AFTER a boiled water advisory had been issued that they were not to consume any water from their tap unless it was brought to a 'rolling boil.'
I went through the same steps in my head trying to recount when I drank my last glass of water...and was paranoid about having my morning coffee.
It wasn't until I was getting ready to leave work at 7 Thursday night that we heard of the advisory from concerned citizens calling the newsroom wondering what was going on.

I have to admit, I am a sucker for Valentine's Day!
I did a quick google search to find out the top 10 gifts, and most of them were very similar. So, here's some ideas if anyone is stumped this year.
This way, no one has any excuse to show up on Sunday empty handed.
