Speed skater Christine Nesbitt had every reason to take it easy this World Cup season.
Nearly a year ago, the London native captured gold in the 1,000 metres at the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
A post-Olympic hangover would almost seem inevitable, especially when you consider the fact she won the gold on home soil as Canadians watched from coast to coast.
She split from her long-time coach Marcel Lacroix who decided to retire after the Olympics.
This past summer, the 25-year-old was involved in a car accident. She suffered a fractured elbow after an SUV struck her bike while she was riding in Calgary.
Despite these obstacles, Nesbitt has been unstoppable on the oval track this World Cup season.
This past weekend in Moscow,
Nesbitt reigned supreme again.
Last year's Vancouver winter games provided Canadians with a number of amazing moments.
