These days, Guy Lombardo's name is more synonymous with the sound of an increasingly tiresome chorus of debate at London City Hall on how best to honor his legacy.
The truth is, we've done enough to honor the London native's memory already and we've certainly wasted more than enough time discussing the future of a speed boat Lombardo used to own. We're not talking about a priceless musical instrument or the original sheet music to "Auld Lang Syne". Instead, we're talking about a Tempo VII speed boat to which Lombardo himself devoted but a single paragraph in his autobiography. If only the argument at London City Hall surrounding the boat's future home could be so brief.
