A century-old building in Lobo, west of London, has been destroyed after going up in flames.
OPP say the fire has caused extensive damage to the building, which contains both residential and commercial space.
Officials with the Coldstream Fire Department tell AM980 the general store had been under construction since the summer and at this point it’s believed the fire began in the basement late Tuesday morning.
No injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire and a damage estimate are not yet known but the Coldstream Fire Department tells AM980 the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office will be contacted, and OPP say a Middlesex County Fire Investigator will also be looking into the blaze.
Egremont Drive from Melrose Drive to Gold Creek Drive, and Nairn Road from Melrose Drive to Lamont Drive were closed for roughly six hours before reopening around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday.
