Thanks to a Good Samaritan, the $500 left behind in an ATM in Tillsonburg has been returned to the Bayham Township man who had forgotten the cash.
On Christmas Eve, a man discovered the cash in the ATM at the Bank of Montreal on Broadway Street in Tillsonburg. The man waited for over half an hour in hopes that the rightful owner would return before going to the OPP to turn over the found cash.
The Bayham Township man who had originally left the cash heard media reports, returned to the bank, and was told to contact OPP. Police were able to confirm he was the rightful owner and the cash was returned.
Meantime, police are still looking for whoever lost over $250 in United States currency at the ONroute Service Centre off the 401 eastbound in South-West Oxford Township between London and Kitchener in the Ingersoll area.
The cash was discovered on the sidewalk on Boxing Day by another Good Samaritan who turned it in to Oxford County OPP.
The owner of the cash is asked to contact Oxford OPP at 519-485-6554 or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 and be ready to identify the exact amount and time it was lost.
