Actress Carrie Fisher was rushed to hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest while on a flight from London to Los Angeles, TMZ reports.
TMZ reports that the 60-year-old experienced a cardiac arrest 15 minutes before the plane was due to land. An emergency medical technician who happened to be on the plane administered CPR. Fisher was rushed to a hospital as soon as the plane landed in Los Angeles.
Fire and United Airlines officials confirmed to the Associated Press that a patient suffered a serious medical emergency on a London-to-Los Angeles flight Friday, but would not confirm it was Fisher.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott said paramedics administered advanced life-saving care and transported the person to a nearby hospital.
United Airlines said in a statement that the unnamed passenger was unresponsive.
Fisher is best known for her role as Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy. She had been on a book tour promoting her new memoir The Princess Diarist.
