The London Knights are technically in the middle of their holiday break.
Things are usually very quiet during times described using words like “holiday” and “break”.
But one of the keys to London’s success over the years is their work ethic and they have used the downtime to add to their roster.
On Wednesday afternoon, Knights’ General Manager, Rob Simpson announced the signing of Harrison Cottam, a 17-year old forward who had been playing in the GOJHL for the Niagara Falls Canucks.
Cottam is 5’11 and 183 pounds and has had a blazing start to 2016-17, putting up 22 goals and 44 points in 32 games with the Canucks.
Simpson believes he will one day fit into a top-six role on the Knights’ roster and feels that by joining the team at this point in the season, he will be able to get up to speed and be ready to step into a larger role next year.

Cottam is from Burlington and will join the Knights in time for them to return from their break.
London will be home to the Oshawa Generals on the 28th of December at 7:00 at Budweiser Gardens and will then play their annual home and home with the Sarnia Sting to close out 2016 and begin 2017.
The teams will meet in London on December 30th at 7:30 and then in Sarnia on January 1st at 2:00.
The Knights trail the Erie Otters and Soo Greyhounds by a single point for top spot in the OHL standings, actually finding themselves ahead of where they were at this time last year.
