Londoners are getting a sneak peak this week at new cancer research happening in the Forest City that will be made possible by new funding.
The London Health Sciences Foundation will make an announcement Tuesday morning about a significant gift from the Gerald C. Baines Foundation.
The funding will support The Gerald C. Baines Centre for Translational Cancer Research at LHSC, which opened in 2010, and the Lawson Health Research Institute.
Officials have said the work is a combination of basic science and clinical care, and the new funding will help the Baines Centre realize a greater capacity to explore new ideas in patient care and create new clinical trials.
The event is set for 10a.m. Tuesday morning.
