A Sarnia teenager remains in hospital after crashing a muscle car belonging to his parents into a house during an overnight joyride.
Police say a 16-year-old boy took the keys to his parents’ 2016 Dodge Challenger, without their permission, and drove off at approximately 2:30 a.m. Monday.
The parents heard the vehicle leave the family home and contacted police immediately.
A short time later, the vehicle drove through a brick wall located at the front of a house and ended up on the back patio, according to police.
Fortunately no one was home at the time of the incident. The home sustained significant damage and is being assessed for structural integrity.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries but remains in hospital under observation.
Police are investigating the incident and do expect charges will be laid.
