London Police have issued an update in this week’s stabbing on Adelaide St. North.
It was around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday when London Police responded to reports of a verbal altercation between a man and 28-year-old woman on Adelaide St. north, near Central Ave. Officers say when they arrived at the scene, they found the woman had been stabbed in the thigh and the suspect had assaulted another male before fleeing the area.
Police say the woman’s injuries were non-life threatening and she was treated and transported by EMS to hospital where she received further treatment and was later released. Officers say the male who was assaulted didn’t suffer any injuries.
London Police were able to track the suspect down a short distance away and he was taken into custody.
Officers say as a result of their investigation, a 24-year-old London man has been charged with the following counts:
- Two counts of assault
- Two counts of uttering threats to cause death
- Assault with a weapon
It was initially reported by London Police that two males were arrested in connection with the incident.
Officers say the suspect remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
