Perth OPP have reopened a section of Highway 23 northeast of Kirkton that was closed for most of the afternoon following a single-vehicle collision involving a transport truck.
Police say a transport truck left the roadway, jackknifed, and struck a hydro pole just after 2:30 p.m. between Line 12 and Line 16.
No injuries were reported in the collision, which downed power lines and knocked out power to about 213 customers, according to Hydro One’s outage map. For a period of time, the truck was also partially blocking the roadway, police said.
The crash shut down Highway 23 from Line 10 to Line 16 for several hours. The roadway reopened just after 8 p.m.
The MTO says Hwy. 23 was partially snow covered and had good visibility at the time of the collision.
