The snow the London region received over the weekend may have been an annoyance to drivers, but it was exciting for Londoners eager to hit the local slopes.
Boler Moutain is getting ready for a busy season with crews already dusting off their snow-making equipment in anticipation of the right conditions.
“With the forecast, it looks like we’re going to be into production snow over the next few weeks,” said Marty Thody with Boler Mountain. “It’s looking like an early to mid-December opening.”
Thody notes they need about a foot of natural snow before they can start grooming the runs, a little less if they’re using production snow.
When Londoners come to see them this year they’ll see construction of Boler’s new chalet is underway, but it won’t impact their skiing.
“There is going to be some construction throughout the winter season, we are building a new chalet that will be open for the 2017/18 season, so there will be some construction going on, but it won’t effect skiing,” said Thody.
