Police are investigating a shooting that injured one person on the Willamette River bridge in Portland, Oregon, as protesters took to the streets to denounce Donald Trump’s presidency.
Officers reported that the suspect was in a vehicle on the Morrison Bridge early Saturday morning.
Police stated that there was a confrontation with someone in the protest march, which caused the man to get out of his vehicle. He fired multiple shots and injured the person before fleeing.
According to officials, the victim was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police are currently looking for the suspect.
Demonstrations have taken place across the U.S have taken place since Wednesday.
Protests are expected to take place in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and other areas on Saturday.
Thousands of people have been drawn into demonstrations in New York and other large urban centres.
The peaceful demonstrations have been overshadowed by moments of vandalism, street-blocking and violence.
