The Sudbury Arena opened its doors in 1951. Walking through its doors today is a lot like walking through the doors of the London Ice House, south of the 401, before its time as a hockey arena ended. The old arena feel is there, but creature comforts and the look of what just about every team in major junior plays in is nowhere to be found.
But that is going to change. The new ownership group of the Sudbury Woilves, led by Dario Zulich is in the planning stages of a new arena for the city of Sudbury. The hope is, that it will serve a far greater area and everyone involved is looking closely at London and Budweiser Gardens to try to copy some of the success that it has had.
AM 980’s Mike Stubbs had a chance to speak with the VP of Marketing of the Sudbury Wolves, Andrew Dale, a former player with both the Wolves and the Kitchener Rangers.
