Police have charged a 22-year-old London man in connection to a taxi robbery in the downtown core.
According to officials, a taxi driver picked up a fare from a male customer in the downtown area on around 11:30 p.m.
The male asked the driver to stop in the area of St. James Street and Waterloo Street.
Officers reported that a citizen called police once the male began assaulting the driver. At one point, the male had control of the taxi and caused it to move forward causing a collision.
The male was subsequently subdued by the driver and the responding officers.
Francis Samson is charged with robbery, impaired driving, mischief and escape lawful custody.
