Cleanup and repair efforts are underway at London’s Goodwill Industries facility downtown after a spree of vandalism this weekend.
London Police were called to the building at 255 Horton Street, just west of Wellington Road, at around 4:20 a.m. Sunday after reports about activity at the building.
When they arrived they found multiple windows and doors had been broken. In total, 11 windows and two glass doors were smashed with a hammer. The total damage is unknown at this time, but it is expected to cost thousands to repair.
The Goodwill Industries location on Horton Street is home to Edgar + Joe’s Cafe, a community store, donation centre, and career centre.
Police say a male suspect was taken into custody at the scene, and is facing a charge of mischief over $5,000. There are no other suspects being sought.
