A 19-year-old St. Thomas man has been charged after threats were made on the University of Virginia’s Facebook page.
On Tuesday afternoon, St. Thomas police received information about the post that indicated a male had planned to kill 13 police officers.
A screen shot of the post was taken and forwarded to Smith Falls OPP due to a misleading profile page. After further investigation, the post was forwarded to St. Thomas police who identified a suspect and attended his address.
Police allege the man denied posting the online threat but eventually admitted to making the post as a joke.
