Elgin OPP have laid a public mischief charge against a 15-year-old boy after being called to reports of a kidnapping.
Police received a 911 call on Saturday from a teen who said he had been kidnapped by two people and was currently in the back of an SUV on the 401.
The SUV was located and stopped and after police spoke to all the occupants it was discovered that the teen was upset that his parents didn’t let him go to a friend’s house.
St. Thomas Elgin paramedics were called to the scene as the suspect began hyperventilating but he was soon cleared by paramedics.
The teen cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
