Officers with Huron OPP are asking anyone who may spot an abandoned boat or watercraft of any kind to contact them as it may relate to the body of a man found on a beach last weekend.
Investigators say the man’s body was discovered on a beach just north of Port Albert on the afternoon of Saturday, October 15th.
Police are still attempting to identify the man and are asking anyone who may have found an abandoned vessel or any marine or sporting equipment along the Lake Huron shoreline over the last month to contact them.
The OPP is asking the public to report any kayaks, canoes, fishing boats, sailboats, kiteboards, paddleboards, personal watercraft, inflatable rafts, dinghies or marine related items.
Officers say it’s unknown how long the man was in the water before he died.
Investigators have described him as having a medium build, about 5’8″ to 5’10” tall, balding hair, and a thin moustache.
He was wearing a tri-colour personal flotation device (pictured above), a black fleece jacket, white and black Nike running shoes and black Performance Edge Pro wind pants (logo pictured above).
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the OPP at 519-524-8314 or 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
