Oxford OPP have identified the victim of a fatal collision early Monday involving a pickup truck and CP Rail train just west of Thamesford.
The collision occurred around 2 a.m. along 13th Line between Road 68 and Road 74 when a westbound CP Rail train struck a pickup truck that was stopped on the tracks facing south.
The pickup truck was pushed around 100 yards down the tracks before coming to a rest in the south ditch, police said.
The lone male driver of the truck was pronounced deceased at the scene, and was identified by police on Tuesday as Slawomir Kaczmarek, 37, of Zorra Township.
Four CP Rail employees on the train were not injured.
No further information has been released, and police are continuing to investigate.
