London Police expect to lay charges after a vehicle collided with a Police cruiser.
It happened at around 10:30p.m. Monday night when a traffic officer was heading eastbound on King Street, approaching Wellington Street, in what’s called a “subdued” Police vehicle.
“Subdued is one of our London Police vehicles that is not fully marked,” said Media Relations Constable Sandasha Bough. “This one in particular was a dark coloured vehicle, it’s one of our traffic vehicles, so you can still see ‘London Police’ on the side, depending on where it is that you’re standing.”
According to investigators, the Police vehicle was struck by a car that ran a red light going southbound on Wellington.
The male officer inside the Police vehicle, as well as the two people inside the car, were taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Bough said charges are pending.
“We do need to speak to a number of witnesses who were at the scene of this particular motor vehicle collision and once we have obtained all the information necessary, there is a chance that charges will be laid,” she said.
The intersection was temporarily closed Monday night as Police investigated.
