Provincial police say a 19-year-old man seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision Thursday in southwest Norfolk County has died of their injuries.
Norfolk OPP, Fire, and EMS responded to the scene along Norfolk County Road 23 around 7:34 a.m., police said.
According to investigators, a grey SUV travelling southbound crossed into the northbound lanes of the roadway and collided head-on with a northbound pickup truck.
Both the driver of the SUV, a 19-year-old Norfolk County male, and the driver of the pickup truck, a 52-year-old Norfolk County male, were transported to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries, police said.
The driver of the SUV was airlifted to hospital in London and was pronounced deceased on Saturday by attending physicians, police said. He has since been identified as Jacob Bergen of Norfolk County.
The driver of the pickup was transported from the scene to hospital in Tillsonburg for treatment and was later airlifted to hospital in London.
No further information has been released by police.
Members of the OPP’s Technical Traffic Collision investigators assisted in the investigation, police said.
