London police are seeking public assistance in tracking down a man in a motorized wheelchair who’s wanted for sexual assault.
Police say a woman was walking southbound on Adelaide St. north and Princess Ave. when she noticed a man in a motorized wheelchair was following her.
He uttered something to the woman about her appearance, and continued to follow her as she walked southbound.
Investigators say the man reached out and touched the woman inappropriately. She pulled away and turned to confront the man at which time he attempted to grab her again.
The woman said she was going to take his picture and contact police, so the man fled in his wheel chair.
Police say the woman was not injured during the assault.
The suspect is described as white, in his 30s, approximately 5’3” to 5’6” tall with a thin build, dark curly hair, full beard, and a high pitched voice. He’s believed to be a smoker and was wearing a black jacket and riding in a black and blue motorized wheelchair.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the London Police Service at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.londoncrimestoppers.com
