London City Hall is hoping to tap into billions of dollars of federal funding to speed up some high profile projects in the city.
The city’s Civic Works Committee has approved a list of 24 projects to send to Infrastructure Canada’s $3.4 billion public transit infrastructure fund.
London City Council will have final say on the matter next week.
London’s list totals $72.7 million and includes items like an environmental assessment for rapid transit, design work for rapid transit, transforming Dundas into a flex street, and removing buses from Dundas.
The city is hoping to receive 50 per cent funding for the items on their list.
If they get it, the federal funding would speed up the timeline for those projects.
