London Police say they’ve made an arrest after receiving information about a Western student allegedly making threats on social media against individuals at Western University.
Police say they received information from University Campus Community Police at 9:30 a.m. and began investigating.
The Western student allegedly posted on Facebook that he planned on going to Western with a gun to cause harm to individuals on campus, though it’s unknown who the intended target was.
A 22-year-old male from North York was arrested around 11 a.m. in relation to uttering threats to cause death, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada and charges will be laid, according to police.
Cst. Sandasha Bough tells AM980 they did not retrieve a gun when they made the arrest.
He remains in custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
