The OPP is warning residents in Middlesex County to make sure their homes are secure after a spate of break-ins over the last month.
Between August 26th and September 23rd, there were 14 reported incidents of suspects breaking into homes, garages, workshops and businesses in the area.
Cash, credit cards, jewelry, tools, electronics, copper wiring were among the items stolen.
In one case, officers say guitars were taken from a home in Middlesex Centre, in another some sticky fingered suspects swiped candy from the fairgrounds in Thames Centre.
The OPP recommends residents protect their homes by locking their doors and windows, even on their garages and outbuildings. It’s also recommended that homeowners install outside lights.
If you’re planning a trip, even a short one, officers also recommend asking a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property.
Anyone with information about any of the incidents across Middlesex County is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). Information can also be submitted online at www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
