The Ottawa Senators doubled the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-3 in Halifax on Monday night to open the pre-season schedule for both teams.
Former London Knights, Mitch Marner and Phil Varone combined to be a part of two thirds of the scoring. Varone had two goals and two assists and Marner assisted on Toronto’s first two goals of the game.

Nazem Kadri had an assist for Toronto and Brandon Prust also played in the game. Prust fought Mark Borowiecki in the first period.

Josh Anderson and Scott Harrington also played for the Blue Jackets and Michael Houser backed up Curtis McIlhenney.

Anthony Stolarz stopped 33 of 35 shots for a Philadelphia Flyers’ split-squad in a 3-0 loss to the New York Islanders. Michael Del Zotto suited up for Philadelphia and played 19:56.
Former Knight Remi Elie played for the Dallas Stars in a 3-1 win over the St. Louis Blues.
Matthew Tkachuk played 16:49 for a Calgary Flames’ split-squad on a line with Sam Bennett and Trou Brouwer. Tkachuk had four minutes in penalties and was a disruptive force in the game.
Christian Dvorak assisted on Max Domi’s goal for Arizona in a 5-3 split-squad win over the L.A. Kings. Domi also had an assist and Dakota Mermis led the Coyotes with 24:02 in ice time.
