Police agencies across Prince Edward Island are evacuating all schools due to a potential threat, according to the RCMP.
In a statement, the RCMP said school “emergency evacuation plans have been activated.”
“Staff are taking students to safe locations in the community and buses are meeting them there. Parents need to meet their children at these safe areas,” the police force said in a statement.
The RCMP is urging parents and legal guardians to wait for further information before heading to pick up their children.
No specifics on the potential threat were given.
Earlier Wednesday morning, two Nova Scotia Community College campuses were evacuated after an undisclosed threat was made on the schools.
The NSCC Marconi campus in Sydney and the Institute of Technology campus in Halifax have both been evacuated as police investigate threat made to the campuses.
