People here in London and around the globe are marking World Alzheimer’s Day on Wednesday by raising awareness for the most common form of dementia.
Organizers are inviting residents to the “Burgers for Brains” BBQ fundraiser on Wednesday in support of the Alzheimer’s Society of London and Middlesex.
The event at One London Place, 255 Queens Ave, runs from 11:30a.m. to 1:30p.m.
Jason Mercer will be providing entertainment during the BBQ, where $10 gets visitors a gourmet burger, chips, and a drink.
Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia. Symptoms can include memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem-solving or language.
There is currently no known cure for the disease.
It’s estimated that 46.8 million people across the world are battling with dementia. That number is predicted to almost double by the year 2030.
